Authentic Positano,
from the heart of our family
A family story
Our home in Positano, for generations
Our story started in 1936, when our great grandparents returned from America and decided to transform their home into a small guesthouse. At the time Positano was still a secret whispered among curious travelers.
The original building is still part of the hotel and preserves the soul of that first dream of hospitality.
At one point there was a painting depicting the old house as it was at the entrance to the hotel. It is no longer on display, but we did choose to share a photo on the website, because it still tells the story of our roots and is of interest to many guests, especially the many who return year after year.
Our beginnings
It all started in the early 1900s, when the house was home to Michelina, who grew up here with my aunt and uncle Bottone.
It was back in 1936 when Michelina and Pietro D’Aiello officially began our history of hospitality by opening one of the first guesthouses in the town.
Even then, Pietro dreamed of welcoming travelers from all corners of the world, in a simple but welcoming place.
The third and fourth generation
In the 1980s, daughters Raffaele and Regina – Michelina, Cristina and Piera – carried on the business with passion, providing continuity in the tradition of hospitality begun by their grandparents.
We are now in the fourth generation: the entire family takes care of the hotel every day, with the same love and dedication as always, supported by valuable staff members, largely from the local area, who share our sense of hospitality and are always ready with a smile.
